Inspiration – If You Look, You’ll Find It.
Life Of A Healer
A lot of people come into the shop and tell us they are going through their “Spiritual Awakening” and are not sure where to start. They usually ask about some aspect that has piqued their interest and I am always happy to help them get started on their journey. Many ask about working with gemstones while others inquire about pendulums or essential oils. A common goal for many, is finding ways to help others, be it family or friends.
Every time someone comes in looking for ways they can help others, I always take the time to work with them, ask them questions and try to get as much information as they are willing to share. It’s not my job to pry and maybe they don’t want to talk about the situation that led them here, and that’s ok! If they want gemstones to help their loved ones, I will always tell them to close their eyes, picture their friends or family and focus on their needs, take a few deep breaths then open their eyes. I advise them to scan the gemstones and see which ones might jump out at them. Gemstones will often make themselves noticed because they know you need their assistance. This also works when searching for gemstones for yourself! Usually, they find something within a few moments of opening their eyes.
Sometimes people come in, not looking for products, but just information. I have stated before in different newsletters that the store will call to people when it’s their time. This will include a variety of things, some come in because they just started down this path so the store showed them there is a place nearby that will help them, be it with classes or services. Some come in to look around only to find information that was only discovered through interaction or conversation.
A conversation I had recently brought up a very important part that is not often discussed. A client told me that she has had conversations with her friends, who look at her and her practice, and are envious. They are envious because in their eyes, she’s living the life of a healer, she’s walking the path of a true healer. These friends are saddened because they believe they are not on the path or living the life of a healer. People often romanticize the world of metaphysics, this includes being “spiritual”, or being a witch and even many times being a healer. If I may steal a line from a good movie, “Everyone thinks it’s a full-time job”. Wake up a healer. Brush your teeth a healer. Go to work a healer. Not true. Four or five moments is all it takes. You don’t have to be a Reiki Master to live a spiritually fulfilling life. I work in the shop area most of the time. Literally, most of my work as a healer has been helping people who come into the shop looking for assistance with gemstones or questions about the world of metaphysics. I remember the first customer I helped after lockdown was lifted and it made me so happy. All I did was talk about gemstones with her. This reminds me about the 8 limbs of Yoga, which I will discuss in the next newsletter. Being a yogi doesn’t mean you only do yoga every day. Being conscious about what you do in your day-to-day life is yoga, taking time to stop and breath is yoga. Being kind to strangers is yoga. The same goes with being a healer. Her friends are missing out on these opportunities to be happy and fulfilled because they have forced an IDEA of what a healer’s life should be like. Be kind to one another and find fulfillment in the fact that your kindness has put a smile on someone’s face. Be sure to tell someone you love them; I love you all!
