Inspiration – If You Look, You’ll Find It.
Standing In Your Own Power
I often hear people talk about healing and standing in their own power. Lately I’ve gotten a few compliments about how I look and the first thing I say is that I’ve been watching what I eat. To which they responded, “I wasn’t talking about your weight. You just look more confident. You look like your true self.” At first, I was shocked, but it quickly brought a tear to my eye. I’ve been through quite a bit lately, but it has allowed me a beautiful opportunity to look within and grow from these experiences. I feel stronger, I feel more balanced in my life, and I definitely feel like I’m on the right path. I’ve always dreamt of being on the right path. Then someone told me that they finally see me standing in my own power. They have known me for quite a while and said that when I was younger, I had a lot of fear within. Now they look at me and the fear is gone and I’m standing tall and proud. Yes, I have been through a lot, as we all have, as we all will continue to and I realized that it doesn’t matter what stage of life we are currently in, we have always had the ability to stand in our own power.
What I’ve gone through is unique to me, others might have similar stories, but none will be the same. As we all continue down this path of healing and growing, I need us to recognize the fact that no one medicine will be the same for everyone. The situation I went through isn’t going to help another person going through something similar. With this in mind we have to be able to take a step back and realize that we are all going through something unique, similar but still different, and we have to be kind to others while we all grow. We have to focus on our own growth as we take baby steps forward. Overcoming fears is one of the hardest challenges we face and obviously it’s easier said than done. However little by little once we get over each and every one of those fears, we become stronger. Every fear we conquer, we level up.
One of the fears I recently overcame was a fear of being successful. Sounds crazy right? It’s true though, I was afraid that if the things I design were in high demand, it would overwhelm me, and I wouldn’t be able to make them as quickly as people wanted them. Then I took a breath and faced my fear head on by making a social media post about my art. The overwhelmingly positive feedback I got absolutely filled my heart. People told me the nicest things and how they would willingly be patient and wait for something hand crafted, and just that quickly all that fear melted away. I know it’s scary but all you need to do is take the first step towards facing your fears. Hold your breath, close your eyes, and just jump forward, or even just take a small step. There is a lot of good in this world and if you walk forward with your heart, you will be embraced by love. Don’t forget to tell someone you love them. I’m rooting for you all.
